SCHOOL POLICY AR 5133.5 DECEMBER 1983

SIMLEY LETTERS AND AWARD CRITERIA IN ALL SENIOR HIGH ECA ACTIVITIES              
Procedures to obtain a letter and/or awards are to be determined by the coach.  They must be approved by the activities director.  The following must be included in the lettering criteria:
 

       A. Seniors: The coaches' discretion will be used on lettering seniors.  The decision will be based on the seniors' contribution to the team.

        B. Injury: If a player is injured playing a sport, and in the coaches' opinion would probably have met the letter requirements, he/she would letter in that sport.

        C. Suspension: Be a member in good standing at the end of the season.  (This would mean an athlete who is suspended during the season, but then returns to the squad, would be eligible to letter.)

General: Special cases will be ruled on by a panel of the head coach, athletic director, and The Principal.

Simley Boys Swimming & Diving TEAM letter requirements                        
1.  Complete the season in good standing.

2.  Return all equipment.

3.  Attend 85% of all practices.

4.  Achieve one of the following:

        A. Qualify for the state meet. 

        B. Earn 100 points in swimming events (relay points will be divided).

        C. Earn 45 points in diving.

        D. Be chosen Most valuable or All-Conference

Or achieve two of the following:
        A. Attend 90% of all practices.

        B. Earn 50 points in swimming events (relay points will be divided).

        C. Earn 30 points in diving.

        D. Qualify for the section meet in an individual event.

        E.  Place in the championship or consolation heat in the section meet.

        F.  Qualify for the semifinals in the section diving meet.

        G.  Score 150 points in the diving in a dual meet.

        H.  Set an individual school record or be part of relay record.

School District lettering policies will also be followed.
